Dannie Greene, Member At-Large

Dannie Greene is a retired postmaster with the United States Postal Service and is a veteran of the West Virginia National Guard.

Mr. Greene has been a education advocate for public education in southeast Ohio, serving as a member, president and vice president of the Gallipolis City School District Board of Education; a member of the Gallia-Jackson-Vinton Joint Vocational School District; and a member and president of the Southeast Regional Executive Committee of the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA). In the community, Mr. Greene is an active member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, trustee, head usher and member of various committees. He also is involved in the National Association of Postal Supervisors, AMVETS, the American Postal Workers’ Union and is a former member of the Gallia County Board of MR/DD.

Mr. Greene has been recognized for his service with honors including the OSBA Award of Achievement, OSBA Master Board Member and Outstanding Board Member Award from the OSBA Southeast Region. He was named a member of the OSBA All Ohio School Board in 2003.

Mr. Greene was appointed as a member at-large by Governor Ted Strickland in 2009. His term expires on Dec. 31, 2012.
