Debe Terhar, District 4 Board President
Debe Terhar is a former licensed Montessori teacher with extensive experience in Early Childhood Montessori Education. Debe’s experience includes working with children with disabilities and diverse socio-economic backgrounds in both public and private schools.
Debe has previously served on the Cincinnati Montessori Society Board of Directors and on the Parent's Advisory Council of the Kelly O'Leary Center for Autism at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She currently serves as a Board Member on the Women of Excellence Council of the President's Advisory Council of Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is currently President and a Board Member of the Hamilton County Republican Women's Club. She also is a founding member of the American Spirit Education Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of
American heritage. Mrs. Terhar is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Xavier University, with honors from Alpha Sigma Nu and Mortar Board.
Debe and her husband Lou have been married for 38 years and reside in Green Township, Ohio. They have four children and three grandchildren.
As an elected member of the State Board of Education, Mrs. Terhar began her term on January 1, 2011, representing the Fourth District, which includes Hamilton and Warren Counties and a small piece of Butler County. Her current term expires December 31, 2014.
